We have a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) on staff in our Chesapeake office. Massage therapy is available to patients under Dr. Packer’s care.

What Massage Therapy Does
Muscles that stay tight and guarded hurt, and they quietly restrict how far you can turn or bend before something pulls. Massage therapy relieves that pain and tension. Many patients report moving more easily after a session.
After an injury, tension builds in the surrounding muscles and tends to stay there long after the original injury has healed. An LMT can loosen that tissue directly.
How It Fits With Your Care
You are already getting your alignment corrected through NUCCA care and your strength rebuilt through Rehabilitation Therapy. Massage therapy loosens the tight soft tissue surrounding both, which is why patients under active care often tell us a session keeps them more comfortable between visits.
Dr. Packer decides whether massage therapy belongs in your plan after reviewing your exam findings. Sessions are then scheduled around your other visits.
What to Expect
Your therapist starts by asking where it hurts and what makes it worse, then adjusts pressure to what you can comfortably tolerate. If it becomes too much at any point, say so.
Appointments are available during regular office hours.
